We have a very unique job opportunity for multiple Data Engineers with strong cloud experience, to join a prestigious sports brand and global digital media platform.
As part of an exciting growth strategy for their Data Analytics division, these vacancies can either be based in Madrid, Spain or remotely (home based) and will be offered on a contract basis until September 2021.
As a Data Engineer, you will help data science teams to answer critical business questions, collect & distribute vital data and present production predictive models, which will be used across a wide array of cutting-edge, consumer-facing digital products, such as connected TV apps, mobile apps and websites. You will also work on data architecture projects related to major sporting events, digital sports content and audience engagement.
You will devise, implement and maintain data flows within a serverless environment, use compute services such as Lambda (AWS) or Function Compute (Alibaba Cloud) and be responsible for ETL logic (extract, transform, load) within Glue (AWS) and Data Works (Alibaba Cloud) frameworks.
Using SQL and Python programming languages, you will write and maintain data queries, aggregation and filtering codes. Quality assurance of all incoming and outgoing data will be a key responsibility, alongside contributing to data schema structure and ensuring compliance.
Candidates will have previously worked as a Data Engineer, with an excellent understanding of serverless cloud architecture, data structuring & schema best practices and experience of AWS or Alibaba cloud platforms or similar.
You will have strong experience of test-driven development with Python, complex SQL queries including UNION operators and implementing HTTP REST APIs & ETL flows.
Continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) experience within a cloud environment is essential, as is knowledge of CloudFormation or Terraform.
Any additional experience of data science techniques in Python or R would be highly advantageous, along with server-side Node.js experience.
Exceptional English communication skills are vital, both written and verbal, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage a constant workload of urgent and important priorities.
