An award-winning sports media company based in the North of England have multiple vacancies for Senior Broadcast Engineers to join their team on a permanent basis. As Senior Broadcast Engineer, you will supervise across the broadcast engineering team and be responsible for their playout systems and associated equipment, providing regular maintenance and support to these systems to ensure a high level of service is always maintained. The role will predominantly be giving support to the on-shift teams, assigning work tasks and acting as an escalation point. As part of your role, you will also manage and monitor live broadcast baseband and IP feeds, troubleshooting the channels outputs and liaising closely with MCR and 2nd line support teams. Adopting best practice with regard to streaming media and broadcast technologies you will monitor and troubleshoot the live encoding and video transcoding equipment for file ingest into their broadcast playout systems.
To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate experience working as a Broadcast Engineer with strong IT skills and a good level of Windows server support and networking, including IP Multicast Network, routing and fibre contribution knowledge. Previous experience supporting broadcast playout systems is required as is expertise across file based workflows, transcoding and encoding technologies. High level fault analysis skills are a must, along with the confidence to work under pressure in a live broadcast environment. Knowledge of Cloud and Virtualisation technologies and an awareness of OTT encoding technologies is a real plus point. As this is a senior broadcast engineering position, the desire to take a level of responsibility for output is important.
This is a shift based roles, covering nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
