A permanent opportunity has become available for a Television Platform Support Engineer to provide first line support specifically across the distribution of IT platforms for a major broadcaster.
Your responsibilities will include completing proactive and reactive service and system checks as well as the operational readiness and the delivery of incident support via triage, prioritisation, logging and problem management. Using available monitoring tools and fault notification systems you will quickly and accurately diagnose impact and incident priority and then follow the correct escalation procedures.
Additional duties will be to provide first line support for launches, premieres and special events and operational support for internal projects teams during the expansion of existing platforms and technological improvements and change.
To be considered you will have a background in supporting IT Service desks in a first-line support capacity. You must demonstrate solid IT skills of platforms, workflows and the associated infrastructure (databases, networking and Unix or Linux). Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving and strong communication skills are also essential.
This is a 24/7 - 365 operation and you are required to be part of a 12-hour rotational shift pattern, which operates a ‘5 on - 5 off’ schedule.
