The VFX Support Technician will be an integral part of the technical infrastructure support team. Once up to speed you will be acting as a main point of contact for all technical support issues that arise within the Studio, post production and VFX areas. These issues will include production critical issues that will need to be rectified as quickly and efficiently as possible.
You will be supporting and troubleshooting issues that vary in complexity across both hardware and software based systems. You will also monitor systems usage across storage and processing capacity, conduct daily backups and oversee the installation and upgrading of hardware and software when required.
Applicants should have strong IT support skills with knowledge ideally across Windows, Linux and Mac based systems. Exposure to the configuration and troubleshooting of all or some of; LAMP, DCHP, TCP/IP, MySQL databases and Active Directory is also important as is some development/coding experience using Python, Perl or PHP.
Additional knowledge of VFX or post production systems including DaVinci Resolve, Autodesk Maya and Avid Media Composer would also be highly advantageous as would knowledge of video and audio formats.
