Job Description

We have an urgent permanent job available for an experienced Broadcast Engineering Manager to join a leading media technology solutions provider. This vacancy can be based in either London or the Midlands, dependent on your location. 

As a Broadcast Engineering Manager, you will lead and coach a talented team of technical support engineers (first to third line). You will provide best-practice technical & procedural advice and ensure processes, quality, security and ISO standards are adhered to. 

Conducting regular 1-2-1 review meetings and appraisals, you will set SMART objectives with team members, manage team coherence and maximise productivity & morale levels. You will induct new team members and ensure the team is operationally ready for new service or technology launches, delivering robust training initiatives. 

You will manage the team's SharePoint site and knowledge base and will also work closely with technology partners and vendors to manage team training and certifications. 

As a key point of escalation for customers, you will ensure technical and operational issues are responded to and resolved efficiently, with mission critical urgency. You will ensure all incident updates are accurate and case backlogs are managed & reduced effectively.

Setting KPIs, you will drive team performance against contractual SLAs through qualitative and quantitative measures and provide feedback and reports to the management team. 

You will take ownership of customer satisfaction feedback, take part in root cause analysis and suggest creative and innovative improvements to help generate additional revenue / business.

This position requires a flexible working approach, for example to be available for out of hours escalations on occasion. 

Candidates will have a proven support engineering background within the broadcast or post production industry, with team leadership or supervisory experience and in-depth incident management knowledge.

You will ideally have an ITIL accreditation or be fully committed to achieving V3 or V4 Foundation level within 6 months of starting this role. 

You will have previous technical support experience across video editing platforms (ideally Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro), storage systems (such as Quantum, Editshare, Avid, Spectra Logic) and remote production technology.

You will also have a solid understanding of video codecs, LTO backup, archive technology and asset management systems, for example Avid Interplay.

Avid ACSR accreditation is highly desirable, along with any additional SharePoint development skills.
