Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an MCR Technical Operator to join an international telecommunications and technology company who are expanding their UK operations. The company have recently opened a brand new, cutting-edge Broadcast Operations Centre in Central London and are recruiting for their MCR team. The MCR is responsible for managing a range of content services across fibre, internet, satellite and cloud, with a primary focus on live sports transmission, with additional media and entertainment services covered also.

As an MCR Technical Operator you will provide technical service, solutions and support to video and IP networks, infrastructure, products, and services, in addition to emerging technologies used by the company. You will undertake pre-event checks and configuration of broadcast encoders and decoders, evaluate signal quality and platform stability, perform satellite downlinking and line-up to EBU standards, amongst other duties.

The ideal candidate for this role would have:

  • Experience working within an MCR
  • Experience working within IT environments
  • Experience operating routing tools/panels
  • Familiarity with IP streaming technologies
  • Experience operating/ configuring encoder/decoder hardware
  • Familiarity with OTT streaming systems/ technology
