We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Director to join the broadcast arm of a major sports governing body. As Technical Director you will act as the key interface between the company and their technical facilities provider and other third party partners to ensure their live and non live content is produced in the most robust and innovative way possible.
You will work closely with the Head of Live Operations and Head of Non-Live Production to plan and execute the technical aspects of broadcasting global sports events, ensuring key production aspects are delivered to pre-planned schedules. You will also oversee the technical requirements and workflows of the MAM systems and edit suites and work with onsite broadcasters and facilities providers building strong relationships and creating and implementing best practice. You will use your technical expertise and knowledge to suggest improvements to workflows and technologies that would improve production and you will stay across the latest developments in the industry identifying technologies that could be utilised, running proof of concepts and ensuring any possible new technology has been fully tested before implementation.
Applicants should have a strong technical background within the broadcast industry with experience working in fast paced multi-platform production environments in sport or entertainment. An understanding of live and non-live production workflows is essential as is a creative mindset with the ability to challenge creative and production staff on the best approaches to creating the highest level of content.
