An industry leading broadcaster based in London is looking for a Playout Support Engineer to join its team on a 6 month contract . Working as part of the playout technology team you will be responsible for providing first line technical support and fault analysis across their broadcast playout platforms for their live content delivery and news operations centre (MCR) . You will ensure all issues are logged and reported in a timely manner and to company SLAs, escalating further where necessary. The role will be working in a fast paced environment so candidates must demonstrate good time management and great personal skills.
To be considered for this role, our client is looking for either a BSc/MSc in an Engineering related field, a media engineering qualification or in lieu of a degree level qualification, experience within a broadcast engineering support role with good knowlege across a range of broadcast systems is required. Candidates must have previously worked in an environment where they have supported playout and MCR functions with good experience in linear video distribution. In addition, a good understanding of control system and comms systems, along with a fundamental understanding of TCP/IP, Firewalls and Multicast networking would be highly desirable.
Please note, this is a shift based role covering a 24/7 operation including nights and weekends. This position also sits inside IR35 and will be fully based on-site.
