Job Description
A highly successful, sports broadcast organisation is looking to recruit a permanent Broadcast Fibre Systems Engineer to join their close-knit team. As Broadcast Fibre Engineer, you will be responsible for fibre optic networks at all global events. You will split your time between the UK base and worldwide travel. Whilst at the event, you will commission and maintain the fibre optic network and its related equipment for the transfer of video, audio and data comms. You will be optically testing , inspecting and commissioning the fibre optics as well as supporting and configuring the transmission systems to transport video, ethernet and optical signals for broadcast.
To be considered for this role, it is important that candidates have a degree, or equivalent in broadcast or a telecommunication related discipline and have demonstrable experience working within a broadcasting environment as a Network Engineer or Broadcast Engineer with excellent networking skills. Experience in TCP/IP ethernet networks and configuring LAN network is required as is knowledge of fibre optical technologies including the testing, servicing and termination of single/multimode fibre. A CCNA network certification would be highly desirable.
