Job Description

Our client, a leading media organisation based in London, is seeking an accomplished Head of Broadcast Operations Support to join their team.

As Head of Broadcast Operations Support you will work closely with senior leadership to optimise workflows, manage resources, and ensure operational excellence across the live television facility. You’ll lead a small talented team, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and play a key role in delivering strategic objectives. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges and driving organisational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor on broadcast operations, providing expert guidance and practical solutions to support the business.

  • Lead the implementation of innovative technologies and processes to improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify skills gaps, optimise team structures, and ensure alignment with company goals.

  • Manage budgets effectively, track spending, and deliver detailed progress reports to stakeholders.

  • Oversee the commissioning and setup of productions, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet creative ambitions.

  • Build strong relationships across departments to improve communication and drive shared success.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team by mentoring staff, identifying training needs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Oversee departmental systems such as rotas and IT requirements, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion within budget and deadlines.

  • Experience introducing new technologies into live television studio environments with any experience of news being highly beneficial 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive cultural change.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.

  • A proactive mindset with exceptional organisational skills to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and vendor contracts.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, policies, and regulatory requirements relevant to broadcast operations.
