Job Description

Our client, a dynamic international media organisation known for producing high-quality live and pre-recorded news and current affairs content, is looking for a Camera Operator to join them on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is your chance to be part of a skilled studio team that supports multilingual news production across multiple formats and platforms.

About the Role

As a Camera Operator, you will report to the Lead Camera Operator and work closely with the gallery director and studio crew to deliver visually engaging content aligned with the channel’s brand identity. This role involves operating studio and robotic camera systems, supporting the set-up and execution of live broadcasts, and collaborating with directors to fulfil creative and technical production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate studio and robotic camera systems during live and pre-recorded shows.

  • Collaborate with floor staff to manage studio set changes.

  • Support the technical maintenance of camera systems and equipment.

  • Follow production briefs and adapt to changing broadcast schedules.

  • Interpret and apply the creative vision of programme directors.

  • Uphold studio safety and etiquette at all times.

  • Monitor emails and documentation for daily updates and bookings.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Camera Operator in live studio broadcast settings.

  • Strong understanding of studio camera systems, framing, and composition.

  • Skilled in operating pedestal and remote-controlled camera systems.

  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-moving news environment.

  • Flexible with working hours, including overnights, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Physically capable of handling equipment and on-set tasks.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a leading international broadcaster and help deliver compelling, high-quality news content to a global audience. Please note this role isn't able to offer sponsorship so candidates must be fully eligible to work in the UK without restrictions!
