Contract: Maternity Cover until end of October | Hybrid (2 days onsite – London)

We’re looking for a confident and fast-paced Digital Programming Producer to join a globally recognised news organisation on a maternity cover contract.

This role sits within a high-performing digital newsroom, playing a key part in how news is curated, presented, and delivered to millions of users across core platforms. If you thrive in a breaking news environment, have strong editorial judgement, and enjoy shaping homepage content in real time, this could be a great fit.

The Role:

You’ll support the editorial team by:

• Curating and managing two key homepage platforms
• Editing and positioning content including video, articles, headlines, and alerts
• Reacting quickly to breaking news and updating content in real time
• Writing and sending alerts as stories develop
• Collaborating with writers, editors, and international teams
• Managing early morning handovers from US teams and aligning on editorial priorities
• Applying audience-focused thinking and day-part logic across US and European audiences

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years’ experience in a digital newsroom environment
• Strong homepage editing experience (essential)
• Excellent editorial judgement and ability to make fast decisions
• Strong writing skills with the ability to work quickly under pressure
• Experience working with writers, editors, and digital content teams
• Familiarity with digital content formats (video, articles, live updates)
• Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
