Job Description
We’re on the hunt for a skilled and creative Sound Designer to support an exciting two-month project in our clients growing podcast division. This freelance role is outside IR35 and requires availability from Saturday to Wednesday, with hours overlapping between UK and US time zones. Weekend work is part of the regular schedule and paid at the standard hourly rate.
As part of the role you’ll be working on dialogue-driven audio content, polishing interview recordings, mixing episodes, and helping shape the sound of engaging, narrative-rich podcasts. Expect collaboration with teams in New York and across the U.S., so clear communication and remote workflows are essential.
Skills & Experience You’ll Need:

Adobe Audition & Descript Proficiency
Confident in waveform and multitrack editing, spectral repair, noise reduction, and Descript's text-to-audio tools. -
Interview & Dialogue Post-Production
Skilled in EQ, compression, de-essing, gating, and voice leveling for a polished, professional sound. -
Mixing & Mastering Fundamentals
Solid grasp of EQ → compression → limiting chains, LUFS metering, and broadcast-ready delivery standards. -
Creative Audio Touches
Comfortable with fades, automation, panning, FX, reverb, and dynamic volume shaping for engaging mixes. -
Remote Recording Tool Know-How
Familiar with tools like Riverside, SquadCast, and Descript Rooms. Understand dual-end recording, sync workflows, and backup strategies.
