Role Overview
The Broadcast Engineer (Support) is a key member of the London Technology team, primarily responsible for 1st-level support and assisting with 2nd-level technical operations. This role involves troubleshooting, escalating issues when needed, performing routine maintenance, updating documentation, and contributing to technical projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1st-level support and assist with 2nd-level issues as part of a 24/7 support team.

Investigate and resolve technical faults, making critical decisions and prioritizing appropriately.

Document incidents accurately, offering technical insights for internal or vendor reporting.

Follow agreed support/ticketing processes to ensure efficient resolution and stakeholder updates.

Proactively monitor and work on unresolved cases, collaborating with subject matter experts when necessary.

Perform preventative maintenance and system checks to ensure high availability.

Maintain compliance with engineering best practices, cyber-security, and resilience standards.

Participate in new technology implementations and projects to meet industry-leading standards.

Provide feedback for process improvements and contribute to building internal knowledge bases.

Support planned engineering works and follow established change management processes.
Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a broadcast engineering support role or similar.

Strong understanding of broadcast technologies, including SDI, I.P, networking, servers (physical and virtual), newsroom systems, graphics, and post-production.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve issues under pressure.

Knowledge of cyber-security and system resilience in broadcast environments.

Skilled in documentation, ticket management, and interpretation of technical schematics.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to minimize downtime.

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Ability to prioritize effectively, manage time efficiently, and meet support requirements.
