Job Description

In-House Legal Assistant – Film Licensing

Contract: 3 months (Inside IR35) with potential to extend or go permanent 
Location: Hybrid (mainly remote with 1 day onsite in Central London)

We are seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support the in-house legal team of a leading global film licensing and distribution business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal or junior solicitor (0–2 PQE) with an interest in the film, media, or entertainment industry to gain valuable in-house experience within an international organisation managing film licensing and commercial agreements.

You will work closely with the Head of Legal and the Content & Acquisitions team, supporting the management of licensing agreements with global film studios and providing legal support across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities

Lead support for film licensing agreements with studios and distributors

Review, draft, and amend commercial contracts and customer licence agreements

Manage contract renewals, amendments, and document tracking

Provide guidance on copyright and contract law related to film distribution

Support the Content & Acquisitions team with contract reviews and document management

Respond to legal queries from internal departments including sales and business development

Assist with contract management systems, templates, and legal documentation

Support the legal team on general commercial and corporate legal matters

 

Key Requirements

Paralegal, trainee solicitor, or 0–2 years PQE solicitor

Experience working with commercial contracts or contract law

Understanding of copyright or intellectual property law

Strong administrative, organisational, and document management skills

Ability to manage multiple agreements and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams

 

Desirable

Interest or experience in the film, media, or entertainment industry

Additional languages such as Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese
