Engineering Manager - CDN

Location: Berlin (Hybrid)
Sector: Video Streaming / CDN Infrastructure

A fast-growing video streaming platform is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for delivering video streams to millions of users through a custom-built CDN.

This role sits at the heart of the streaming architecture, ensuring high reliability, excellent Quality of Experience, and scalable delivery of video content globally.

The Role

You will lead a team developing a distributed streaming infrastructure, including a proprietary CDN platform responsible for caching, packaging, encryption, and delivery of live and on-demand content.

The team also maintains backend services that manage stream sessions, authorization logic, and DRM systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team responsible for streaming infrastructure and CDN services

• Define the technical roadmap and architecture for video delivery systems

• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed streaming services

• Work hands-on where needed with the technical stack

• Collaborate with teams responsible for ingest, playback applications, and advertising systems

• Improve development processes and engineering best practices

• Hire, mentor, and develop engineering talent

What We’re Looking For

• Experience leading software engineering teams (3+ years)

• Strong experience building scalable backend services and APIs

• Experience with distributed systems and high-traffic platforms

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Technical experience ideally includes:

• C++ and/or Go development

• Video streaming technologies

• Content delivery networks or distributed caching systems
