Are you an experienced Floor Manager with a passion for live television? Do you thrive in a fast-paced news studio environment? A news organisation is looking for a highly skilled professional to join their team on a 12 month fixed-term contract and play a key role in delivering live and pre-recorded television productions.
As a Floor Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating presenters, contributors, and crew to ensure smooth and professional broadcasts. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining studio discipline, safety, and technical efficiency during rehearsals, recordings, and live transmissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the studio floor, ensuring health and safety protocols are met.
- Coordinate guests, presenters, and crew to maintain a seamless production.
- Communicate effectively with directors, autocue, sound, and lighting teams.
- Ensure on-screen talent is ready for air, including mic and IEM checks.
- Supervise and coordinate set changes, props, and technical equipment.
- Provide cues, time counts, and positioning instructions to presenters.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization.
- Troubleshoot and escalate studio floor issues as needed.
- Adapt to last-minute changes in the news agenda and studio setup.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Floor Manager in live television or a news studio.
- Strong understanding of broadcast studio equipment and workflows.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced live news environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of studio health and safety regulations.
- Flexible approach to shift work, including overnights, weekends, and public holidays.
- A keen interest in global news and current affairs.
