Job Description
Our client, an international leading broadcast camera solutions company is currently looking to recruit a Broadcast Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
As a Broadcast Engineer you will be responsible for pre and post sales support of the companies award winning products. For pre-sales you will work with the sales team to provide technical advice and assist with the setup and delivery of product demonstrations on and off site including at clients facilities and major trade shows. Post sale you will act as a primary technical support contact ensuring successful completion of technical support cycles, providing the highest level of service. Additionally you will also get the opportunity to work on projects taking the lead when required and ensuring successful delivery.
Candidates will be considered from either a Live TV / outside broadcast (OB) engineering background if they are interested in moving into a customer support and projects role, or alternatively the engineer may already be working for a broadcast technology manufacturer or reseller performing a similar customer support engineering role.
The engineer must be familiar with video and broadcast equipment standards, IT networking with an understanding of IP workflows and video formats. Any experience in electro-mechanical, professional broadcast cameras or camera robotics equipment from pan/tilt roll to motion control robots will be of real interest although not essential as long as the candidate is interested in developing their skills in this area.
Full training will be given across all products, so it is not essential to have specific camera robotic experience, as broadcast engineers from Live TV production or Outside Broadcast Engineering with good video, IP and networking will have transferable experience.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to work. The role will involve travel to customer sites and to head office. The hours are Monday-Friday, with some travel involved 1-2 times per month.
