As an AV Design Engineer, you’ll shape complex AV systems from concept through deployment, designing integrated solutions that support game-day experiences, IPTV, digital signage, broadcast applications, and corporate solutions. You’ll work closely with sales and project teams to ensure every system meets client expectations and is ready for seamless execution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate with sales to define client needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Design complete AV systems (equipment, parts, labor) and create scopes of work.
- Assist CAD/BIM teams with system modelling and technical documentation.
- Research emerging products and technologies to maintain cutting-edge designs.
- Support project managers during deployment and provide knowledge transfer to field teams.
- Respond to bid requests and ensure technical compliance with specifications.
- Travel up to 30% for site visits, design reviews, and client meetings.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Strong knowledge of AV system design, configurations, and industry best practices.
- Expertise in audio/video theory, AV-over-IP design, digital signage, and IPTV systems.
- Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, BSS, Vitec, Savi, Tripleplay, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of network design principles and IT best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD, Revit, or BIM experience preferred.
- CTS required (or achieved within 6 months); CTS-I or CTS-D preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.
