Exciting opportunity for an experienced Automation Director to join a successful live news broadcaster based in London.

This role sits at the heart of live and non-live programme delivery, operating within a highly automated environment and ensuring output meets the highest editorial and technical standards.

The Role
You will be responsible for directing and co-directing programmes using Vizrt Mosart, leading gallery operations, and working closely with editorial, production, and technical teams. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth transmission, managing running orders, and resolving issues in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct live and non-live programming in an automated environment
• Lead gallery operations during broadcasts
• Manage and adapt running orders as required
• Collaborate with editorial and production teams to deliver output
• Troubleshoot technical and production issues under pressure
• Support workflow improvements and operational standards

Requirements

• Proven experience directing in an automated broadcast environment
• Strong knowledge of broadcast studio automation systems, ideally Vizrt Mosart although similar systems such as Ross Overdrive also can be considered
• Solid understanding of gallery production (cameras, audio, lighting, graphics)
• Ability to make fast decisions in high-pressure environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
