Job Description
Christy Media is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join a leading international broadcast services provider. This is a key technical leadership role, responsible for shaping the technology strategy and architectural vision behind innovative, large-scale live event transmissions and broadcast network services.
As Senior Architect, you will define and drive the technical roadmap for broadcast transmission and network solutions, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure workflows for premium live events. You will lead the design and architecture of complex broadcast and network systems, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide technical leadership to engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and refine long-term technology strategies, aligning with business goals and industry trends.

Lead the design and architecture of advanced broadcast workflows, transmission systems, and network infrastructures.

Define and document architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices.

Guide engineering teams through the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment and operational handover.

Mentor and coach engineers in architectural principles and emerging technologies.

Lead technology evaluation and vendor selection processes, including proof-of-concepts and technical assessments.

Design and optimise live broadcast transmission workflows (encoding, decoding, transcoding, routing, monitoring).

Architect robust network solutions for managed and unmanaged environments, focusing on performance, resilience, and security.

Drive integration of cloud-based and hybrid solutions for broadcast contribution and distribution.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with business and technical strategies.

Produce clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design specifications.
Skills & Experience Required

Extensive experience (10+ years) in a senior technical role within the broadcast and media industry, with a strong focus on broadcast architecture and transmission systems.

Deep knowledge of broadcast technologies and workflows, including contribution, distribution, encoding, decoding, transcoding, routing, and monitoring.

Expert-level understanding of IP networking principles, protocols (multicast, QoS), and architectures for media transport.

Proven track record of designing and implementing complex broadcast and network solutions for live event transmission.

Strong experience in technology evaluation, vendor selection, and conducting proof-of-concepts.

Demonstrable experience in architectural design methodologies and documentation.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.

Flexibility to travel internationally as required.

Experience with cloud-based broadcast technologies and workflows (e.g., AWS Media Services, Azure Media Services, GCP Media CDN).

Hands-on experience with network and broadcast equipment from leading vendors (e.g., Net Insight, Cisco, Arista, Imagine Communications, Grass Valley, Appear, MediaKind).

In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).

Familiarity with network monitoring and management systems (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Netbox, OpenNMS).

Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).

Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.

Relevant industry certifications.
