VR Systems Engineer – Live Event & Broadcast Technology
About the Role
Our client, an innovative player in the graphics and broadcast technology space, is seeking a VR Systems Engineer to join their growing UK operations. This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to someone with strong technical aptitude, experience in live broadcast environments, and a willingness to travel regularly across the UK and internationally.
You’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of virtual reality systems used in live sports broadcasts, ensuring seamless integration with real-time camera tracking and broadcast workflows. The role also includes responsibilities related to technical system design, equipment management, and operational logistics.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of sports, technology, and live production, and who thrives in high-pressure, collaborative environments.
Key Responsibilities

Lead technical delivery at live sporting events across the UK and abroad

Operate and troubleshoot VR systems and related broadcast camera equipment on-site

Plan and coordinate logistics (transport, freight, accommodation) for technical deployments

Liaise with broadcast partners and on-site production teams

Build, configure, and maintain broadcast and VR system kits used in the field

Support system testing, integration, and documentation for both live and proof-of-concept projects

Take ownership of local equipment standards and maintenance processes
Who We’re Looking For

Previous experience in live broadcast, OB (outside broadcast), or technical event delivery

High technical aptitude, especially in AV, camera, computer hardware, or networking systems

Strong communicator who remains calm and solutions-focused under live production pressures

Flexible and proactive attitude; able to adapt to fast-changing environments

Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and prioritisation skills

Willingness to work weekends and travel frequently

Valid UK driver’s licence (essential for operational purposes)
